THE CASCADE
A non-profit university newspaper, The Cascade covers news, events, and issues that are relevant to the university population and the surrounding community, such as campus politics & student life, current events, and culture. The newspaper provides a platform for student journalists to develop their writing, reporting, and editing skills and to gain valuable experience in the field of journalism. It also serves as a source of information and entertainment for students, faculty, and staff of the university. The non-profit status of the newspaper ensures that its focus remains on providing quality journalism and serving the local community rather than generating profit.
HOME RESTAURANT
Being a General Manager of a casual-dining restaurant is both exciting and challenging. There's nothing quite like the thrill of a busy night, with customers enjoying their meals and staff working together like a well-oiled machine. It's incredibly rewarding to create an environment where people feel welcome, comfortable, and happy.
However, being a GM also comes with its fair share of challenges. Managing staff, maintaining food quality, and dealing with difficult customers can be tough, but it's all part of the job. And let's not forget the responsibility of running a profitable business, ensuring that everything runs smoothly, and keeping everyone happy.
For me, the joy of being a General Manager comes from seeing the smiling faces of satisfied customers, hearing positive feedback from guests and staff, and knowing that my team and I have created something special. It's a privilege to be a part of the restaurant industry and to have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives, one meal at a time.
