Hi, I'm Brad Duncan,

a fourth-year student of history at the University of the Fraser Valley.

I'm also a journalist, storyteller, team leader, and occasional dreamer

Mission

I’m a lifelong learner and history major currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts program at The University of the Fraser Valley. While my interests are varied, as a discipline, history allows me to harness my interdisciplinary studies to better understand complex societal dynamics. We live in interesting times, after all. My goal is the successful application and completion of a Master's Degree in History to gain a deeper understanding of our collective story and add my research and perspectives to the field.

I’m currently the executive editor for The Cascade. It’s a position that is as rewarding as it is challenging, combining my passions for journalism and storytelling with leadership and team development, and the indispensable experience of managing a non-profit organization. Beyond the professional realm, I am an unwavering Vancouver Canucks fan who’s dedicated to the well-being and happiness of my dogs.

The Cascade

I'm responsible for ensuring the quality and coherence of all content published in our publication, including overseeing a team of writers, editors, and designers, managing deadlines, and working closely with our Board of Directors to maintain the integrity and mission of our publication. Additionally, I am responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase readership and engagement, as well as managing the budget and financial performance of our publication. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure that our publication delivers informative, engaging, and thought-provoking content that meets the needs and interests of our readers.
